Chinese embassies and consulates in Australia remind Chinese citizens to beware of telecom fraud

Wire fraud has been on the rise in Australia. Recently, the embassy in Australia noticed that some criminals impersonated officials of the Chinese embassy and consulates in Australia, domestic public security and law departments, international express companies, etc. to commit telecommunication fraud against Chinese citizens in Australia, and create a “virtual kidnapping” scam. The embassies and consulates in Australia once again remind international students and overseas Chinese to be vigilant and take precautions:

Do not trust suspicious calls, and do not provide personal information at will.
