Australian PM promises to attend G20 summit in Indonesia

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation website reported on June 7 that Australian Prime Minister Albanese said he would attend the Group of 20 summit (G20) to be held in Indonesia later this year.

In a brief speech with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Albanis said: “I… (will be there) because the work of the G20 is crucial in the current uncertain global economy. By Working with Indonesia, we will most effectively address the many challenges facing the post-pandemic global economic recovery.”

The report pointed out that due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, some G20 members asked Indonesia not to invite Putin. But the Russian embassy hinted that Putin would plan to attend.
