International Business News – India this month rejected visa renewals for the last two remaining Chinese state media journalists, from Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
A source close to the matter said the two journalists had left India after their visas expired. Other people familiar with the matter say there are now no Chinese state media journalists in India, perhaps for the first time since the 1980s.
China has also denied Indian journalists’ credentials. Indian media had four journalists in China at the beginning of the year, but two have not been granted visas to return to China. A third person was also told this month that his eligibility had been revoked.
